Joshua Swanson is fairly accomplished in the field of character voice over for animation and video games. He recently has been privileged enough to voice the lead role of Stan in ObsCure II. Stan is one of two characters to live on to ObsCure III!

Character voice over consists of all different kinds of voice work. Joshua’s character voice over work started by doing characters in commercials. The demo just below this is a sample of that work for companies like Dairy Queen, Subway, Arizona Casinos, Paramount Parks, Busch Gardens, and much more. Recently, Joshua also finished work on a new audio Bible voice over gig that falls under this category. He voiced the character of Titus in as well as several other smaller characters in “The Word of Promise New Testament” for Cerny American Creative in association with Falcon Picture Group. You may have heard of some of the other voice over talent who worked on this project like Marisa Tomei, Jim Caveizel, Michael York, Richard Dreyfuss, and Stacy Keach.

Another random, yet fun job Joshua has had in the field of animation or video game voice over work is doing a voice match for Frodo in the “Lord of the Rings” slot machine for WMS Gaming. If you’re ever in Vegas and happen to have a recording device on you do Joshua a favor and look for the Lord of the Rings slot machine and listen closely to Frodo. It will sound a lot like Elijah Wood and a little bit like Joshua Swanson.

Other video game credits include Tekki or Steel Battallion where Joshua voiced several characters including Private Hill, various fighting voices, and several different soldiers in battle.  Voiceover for video game is very similar to voiceover for animation.
