Online Out Of Line Season 2 Begins!
Well season 2 of our web show "Online Out Of Line" launched last week to much fanfare! So, I thought it would be appropriate to pass on a few thoughts regarding what I've already learned as a producer of a mega popular web series that so far hundreds, just over a hundred, have watched through our new distribution partner Koldcast.TV.
Have a distributor. Yep, that's the first thought and I know it's profound. Having a partner who knows what acronym's like CPM, SEO, and ROI mean really helps in turning out serious pennies on your web product. Sometimes, even hundreds of pennies.
Second, have a really good attitude about your product. Tweet how well things are going even if you feel like ending it all. Perception is the beginning of reality. That sounded like something Confucius said, but I'm not really sure.
Use social media to announce the release of your show because then you will know how many friends on Facebook are real friends. That will also tell you that in some cases, you may have just over a hundred people who will watch your show if you announce it on Facebook once. Then you can feel popular when the fact is most people have clicked on your link by accident when they were scrolling through their news feed.
Lastly, be nice to everyone because you just don't know who might end up getting your web show onto the small screen. Yes, that was a subliminal suggestion which will hopefully lead all of you to call your friends in TV and tell them about us.
Joking aside, thanks for reading and I hope you laugh both at what I've written and at our show. We've really enjoyed working with Koldcast.TV and are very grateful for their supportive partnership thus far. I suggest that anyone out there who is trying to get eyeballs to their web series should hit up Koldcast to see if they like your product.
